Dustless Refinishing the Only Way to Refinish Wood Floors

February 14, 2013

Hardwood sanding & refinishingThere is no comparison between the old way we used to have to refinish wood floors (photo at left) and today’s dustless refinishing. With dustless refinishing, there’s not just less dust…it’s completely dustless. If you thought you had to move out of your Kansas City house while messy sanding was going on, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. At Kenny’s we’ve gotten rid of all the hassle and mess. We use a dust containment system. This dust containment system (DCS) grabs dust with a powerful vacuum while the floor is being sanded and seals it in an airtight container. Dust never has a chance to get into your home.

There are three big advantages to Dustless Refinishing:

  1. 1.      No need to evacuate the home

Because the DCS whisks all the dust outside before it has a chance to get into your home, there’s no need to move out while the wood floor is being installed. You can go about your life as normal and simply avoid the room that is being refinished.

  1. 2.      No dust in your home or ductwork

Even when we tape off a room, dust can still get into your vents and spread to other areas of your home through the heating and cooling duct work. With the dustless refinishing system, there’s no dust to get into the duct work to start with.

  1. 3.      Better quality finish

Because there is no dust floating around, there is no dust to get into the final finish on your new floor. The finish is flawless.

The dust containment system makes our jobs easier, faster, and better. It also makes your life easier too. If you need your hardwood floors refinished, don’t be afraid to call us. It’s not the hassle it used to be. With the dust containment system, we can be in and out with very little disturbance to your daily activity.
