Southern Mountains White Oak

SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS WHITE OAK

 

Besides Red Oak, Southern Mountains White Oak is another extremely popular flooring choice in American homes. The heartwood is a light brown color and some boards have a pinkish tint or a slight grayish cast. The sapwood is white to cream. White Oak's grain is open, with longer rays than Red Oak and occasional swirls and burls.

    This is a classic type floor when you think of oak hardwood flooring. The color variations are very minimal. and the planks come in lengths that average 36”. You’ll also see small, tight pin knots and some brown streaks.

    With this grade of white oak, you’ll see more prominent color variations and different characteristics. You’ll see some knots, and this traditional oak flooring comes in an average length of 30”.

  • Unfinished White Oak: Common 2

    Common 2

    Kenny’s also carries this grade of white oak hardwood flooring, and creates more of a cabin feel to your project. This grade also has more of a contrasting appearance, and the variations are very natural to this style of hardwood flooring.
